Nomura-ke Samurai Residence is located in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, a historic samurai mansion steeped in rich cultural heritage. Once the residence of Nobusada Nomura Denbee, a senior retainer of the Maeda clan, this site served as a gathering place for middle-upper class samurai. Inside, you'll discover well-preserved 400-year-old architectural features like T-shaped and L-shaped alleyways, samurai house thresholds with earthen gates, wooden plank roofs, and ochre-colored clay walls. The tranquil garden features a stream, waterfall, granite bridge, and a 400-year-old laurel tree. Visitors can enjoy matcha tea in the upstairs teahouse while admiring the garden's beauty and experiencing the unique charm of traditional Japanese landscaping. The residence also displays samurai swords and armor, transporting guests to Japan's feudal era. More than just an educational destination for samurai culture, it's a breathtaking site where history and nature harmoniously coexist.
