Dubai

Desert dunes to the world's tallest tower in one day

Overview

Dubai cruise options: what to expect

A Dubai cruise usually means a dhow — a traditional wooden boat refitted for dinner sails — gliding either through the old Creek or the neon canyon of Dubai Marina. It is the city's most-booked evening after the desert safari, and one of its better values.

Budget AED 60-190 ($16-$52) per person for dinner cruises. Winter ocean cruises from Dubai's port are a separate, multi-day product.

How to choose

For most visitors the Marina dhow at sunset-to-dark is the right call — book the earlier boarding so you catch daylight, sunset, and full lights in one sail. The buffet is decent, not fine dining; go for the views and the breeze, and eat like it is part of the evening, not the point of it.

Skip the megayacht upgrade unless you are a group of six or more — the extra money buys space and a bigger buffet, not better views. And skip dinner cruises altogether if you get restless on boats: the same skyline is free from Marina Walk with a shawarma in hand.

The daytime shared yacht is the sleeper pick for friends' trips: Palm and Atlantis from the water, music, and often a swim stop, at a per-head price below most beach clubs. Compare evening plans with Dubai nightlife, or see the Dubai guide.
